Share Your Time and Talent

On Sundays, we come together as a family to break bread, to tell stories, to sing and to dance. We celebrate within a tradition shared with the larger Roman Catholic Church, the broader Christian community, and the Communion of Saints.  But Cabrini's lively spirit and intimate setting allows us to experience that tradition as part of a vibrant community.

Please consider how you can participate. We welcome all gifts in our celebration of liturgy. For more information, please contact Chris Kosowski or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Mass Coordinators

Lighting candles, preparing the altar, and inviting others to bring up gifts are a few of the ways Mass Coordinators welcome the community for worship.  Contact Marietta Booth (5:00 pm Mass), Kay Jones (9:00 am Mass) or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Communion Ministers

Holy gifts for holy people.  Communion Ministers come from within the community to serve. Please let the Mass Coordinators know if you’re willing to perform this ministry and know that younger children, especially, are invited to hold baskets during communion.

Readers

A ministry – performed well – so that the Word of God can enter through our ears and grow in our hearts and our lives. See the Readers page for more information.

Musicians

In this community where music is indeed a source of joy, our song is led by a variety of volunteer musicians (singers and instrumentalists). See the Music page for more information.

Dancers

Processions, ritual gestures, spontaneous circle dances… There are times when all of us dance! And there are times when a small group leads the community or interprets scripture through movement. Children and adults, men and women, people of various abilities are all most welcome. For more information contact Pat Schucket or email dance@cabrinimn.org.

Actors

Different eyes, ears, minds, and hearts discover new treasures buried deep in the Word of God. Story and drama are ways of engaging our imaginations, of bringing to light a perspective we would otherwise overlook. For more information contact David Ward or email drama@cabrinimn.org.

There are also opportunities to get involved behind the scenes.

Bread Baking

Baking communion bread is a meditative, prayerful experience. The sharing of the home-baked loaf is one of the important constants of our liturgy at Cabrini. Those who bake it have a very special ministry. For more information contact Bev Atkinson or email breadministry@cabrinimn.org.

Environment

This group creates and maintains a welcoming environment in the worship space befitting the liturgical season.  All those with artistic talent and creative ideas as well as those willing to set it in place are welcome.  Contact Joanna Cortright or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Word Team

This group meets every week to discuss the Sunday Scripture Readings and their implications in our lives.  The Word Team evaluates the preaching that takes place in our community.  Team members, as well as others, are invited to share their reflections before our parish liturgies.   Contact Chris Kosowski or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Liturgy Committee

Sets the overall direction for liturgy at Cabrini.  A place to do some “dreaming” as well as sharing information and making the decisions that shape our liturgies.  Meetings are every quarter. All are welcome.   Contact Jim Polakowski or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Liturgy Planning Team

Plans liturgies for special Sundays and feasts as well as the liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, the Paschal Triduum, and Easter.  Whether reflecting on the Scripture readings, brainstorming, or evaluating, your own experience of liturgy is valued here!   Contact Chris Kosowski or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.

Please consider how you can participate. For more information, please contact Chris Kosowski or email liturgy@cabrinimn.org.
