Tres Iglesias Habitat for HumanityTres Iglesias is an association of three neighborhood churches (St. Frances Cabrini, St. Cecilia, and Prospect Park United Methodist) who have joined together every year since 1992 to work on a Habitat for Humanity project in the Twin City area.
2012 Summer ProjectWe'll be working on a 'new construction' home again this year in NE Minneapolis. The location is nice and close to our 3 congregations and the dates in late July and early August are our usual weeks of work. Remember we have several ways to participate including: on site work; providing or organising food; monetary donations. You can Sign up, as in previous years, either 'on-line' or 'hardcopy'. You can also contact your Tres Iglesias reps if you have questions or would like help signing up.
What To Expect On-SiteDuring the Day· Arrive on site on time and plan to stay for the day. Let your group organizer know if you won’t be able to come as scheduled. Try to give plenty of notice so we can make other arrangements. · The work day begins at 8:30, with a morning break, lunch break, an afternoon break, and ends at 4:00. It will save time if you register with Habitat as a member of Tres Iglesias, print the registration form, and bring it with you on your first day. · Food during breaks and lunch will be provided on site. Drinking water and restroom facilities will also be provided on-site. Tools· Most tools are available on site, but it can be helpful to bring your own. We suggest: a tool belt with hammer, tape measure, utility knife and pencils. Remember to label your tools. · If you bring power tools, do not allow others to use them without the Site Supervisor’s permission. Personal Items· Wear work boots or sneakers that are slip resistant and fully enclose the foot. Open-toe and open-heeled shoes are not allowed on site. · We work rain, shine, or snow. Wear a hat and clothes that you won’t mind tearing or staining. Dress in layers so that you can add or subtract depending on weather conditions. · Work gloves, goggles and hard hats are provided, but you may bring your own. Medical / Emergencies· A first aid kit will be available on site as well as a telephone for emergency use. · Should you need to be reached in case of an emergency, the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity office can forward any information to the work site. Please call 612-331-4090.
